Around the 14th century, Patih Gajahmada and its troops from the Majapahit kingdom anchored south of Kuta Beach. And in the 19th century a Danish trader, Mads Lange, settled and established a trading base on this beach. in this area Mads Lange successfully carried out his trade with neighboring islands. Because of his expertise in negotiations, Mads Lange became an intermediary between the kings of Bali and the Netherlands in matters of trade and efforts to avoid military conflict.

In its development, Kuta Beach became famous after Hugh Mahbett published a book entitled Praise for Kuta. The book contains an invitation to the local community to prepare tourism facilities to support the development of Kuta Beach tourism . Finally because of this book, the development of tourism facilities began to be carried out, such as the construction of lodging, restaurants, and entertainment venues. On the advice of some tourism actors in Bali, finally Kuta Beach was made as the tourism center of Bali.

In the past, almost all of the beaches in Bali were where the sea turtles landed, the turtles that landed on Kuta beach were turtle (Lepidochelys Olivacea). With the crowds of tourists visiting this beach and lots of buildings around the beach, turtle nesting sites are decreasing. Along the beach, there are also many trees, ranging from coconut trees, rubber trees, pandanus, padanggalak and katang-katang trees. Katang-katang tree has a very important function because it is to protect the beach sand so that it is not carried by the waves during high tide.
